If your browser can't read JavaScript...
It is probably because your browser has JavaScript turned off.
If you are running Internet Explorer:
Choose "Internet Options..." from the "Tools" menu
Click on the "Security" tab at the top of the dialog that appears
Click on the "Medium (more secure)" setting
Click OK
Reload the page by choosing "Refresh" from the "View" menu.
If you are running Netscape Navigator or Communicator:
Choose "Preferences..." from the "Edit" menu
Click on the "Advanced" category in the list on the left of the dialog
that appears
Click on "Enable JavaScript" to make a tick appear beside it
Click OK
If your browser can't read Java...
It is possibly because your browser has Java turned off.
If you are running Internet Explorer:
Choose "Internet Options..." from the "Tools" menu
Click on the "Advanced" tab at the top of the dialog that appears
Click on the "JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled " setting
Click OK
Close your browser window to implement the change
If you continue to have problems, go to the Sun Microsystems site at: http://java.sun.com/getjava where you can download the Java plugin.
If you are running Netscape Navigator or Communicator:
Choose "Preferences..." from the "Edit" menu
Click on the "Advanced" category in the list on the left of the dialog
that appears
Click on "Enable Java" to make a tick appear beside it
Click OK
If you continue to have problems, go to the Sun Microsystems site at: http://java.sun.com/getjava where you can download the Java plugin.
If you need to install the Shockwave plug-in...
Go to the Macromedia site at http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/?application/x-director where you can download the shockwave plugins. After installing Shockwave you should return to the test page and check that you can see the word PASSED as required.
If you need to install the Flash player...
Go to the Macromedia site at http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer/ where you can download the Flash player. After installing it you should return to the test page and check that you can see the word PASSED as required.
If your browser has cookies disabled...
If you are running Internet Explorer 5 or above:
Choose "Internet Options..." from the "Tools" menu.
Click on the "Privacy" tab at the top of the dialog that appears.
Click on the "Default button.
OR
Click on the "Medium (more secure)" setting.
Click OK.
Close all open browser windows and then open another.
Reload the page 'Test Your Computer'.
If you are running Netscape Navigator or Communicator:
Choose "Preferences..." from the "Edit" menu.
Click on the "Advanced" category in the list on the left of the dialog
that appears.
Click on "Accept all cookies".
Click OK.
